Zeekr has launched its first ever ice-driving experience in the Southern Hemisphere, and is inviting Aussies to drive its current and future EV line-up on New Zealand’s legendary snow and ice proving grounds in Queenstown this August.
As the Chinese brand (owned by Geely, who also own Volvo and Lotus, among others) accelerates its momentum across Australia, the brand is hosting this exclusive experience to bring customers closer to its vision for the future of mobility.
With limited spaces available globally, guests will enjoy world-class ice driving instruction, luxury accommodation and unparalleled access to the world of Zeekr through an immersive brand experience unlike any other.
Australian guests can choose from two exclusive Zeekr On Ice experiences – 13–15 August 2026 (ice-driving experience on 14 August) or 14–16 August 2026 (ice-driving experience on 15 August).
Each package includes a two-night luxury escape in New Zealand and a full day behind the wheel of Zeekr’s latest electric vehicles at the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds.
Participants will drive a curated selection of vehicles.
That includes the Zeekr X, 7X, performance-focused 7GT, the new 8X and flagship Zeekr 9X. “Zeekr was created to challenge expectations of what an electric vehicle can be,” the brand’s Australian managing director, Frank Li said.
“Zeekr On Ice brings that philosophy to life, giving guests the opportunity to experience how design, innovation and driver engagement come together in some of the most demanding conditions imaginable.”
Set against the dramatic backdrop of New Zealand’s Southern Alps, Zeekr On Ice provides the ultimate proving ground for guests to experience the brand’s vehicles in one of the world’s most demanding driving environments.
From precise torque management and all-wheel-drive capability to the inherent balance created by a low-mounted battery architecture, guests will discover how Zeekr’s approach to design and technology inspires confidence, control and driver engagement.
Each vehicle will be thoroughly tested across a comprehensive driving programme designed by world-class ice driving instructors, including vehicle dynamics training, slalom courses, controlled power slides, gymkhana circuits and hot laps with professional drivers.
The package includes two nights at the luxurious Millbrook Resort, premium welcome and celebration dinners, expert coaching and helicopter transfers for $5,500 NZD. A spectator package that excludes the driving program is $1,500 NZD.
