XPENG’s now factory backed Australian arm has confirmed reservations are now open for the new G6, with a four-variant range arriving in Australian showrooms this month. The premium mid-size electric SUV is capable of up to 525km of range.
Built on XPENG’s 800V high-voltage architecture, the refreshed model introduces a sharper exterior design, upgraded cabin technology, expanded model choice and 5C ultra-fast charging capability across the range.
That translates to DC fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in as little as 12 minutes. The range kicks off with a RWD Standard Range (480km) at $51,800, with the Long Range version (525km) at $56,800.
An AWD Performance variant offers up to 510km (as does its Black Edition sibling), with the duo priced at $63,800 and $66,800 respectively – all plus on-roads. All variants feature V2L technology (up to 6kW) and chew through an estimated 16.6kWh/100km.
Inside you’ll find a 15.6-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, an XOPERA audio system with 18 speakers, support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and over-the-air software update capability.
Dual wireless phone charging, and the option of a Nappa leather-appointed interior and heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, feature, while the brand’s XPILOT driver assistance package includes adaptive cruise control and lane centering.
You’ll also find automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure and lane keep assist, blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, rear collision warning, door open warning, traffic sign recognition and a surround view system.
Separate from the standard AWD Performance variant, the Black Edition adds exclusive black exterior paint, 20-inch wheels in black finish, and smoked-black exterior badging, housings on the front fender and front door camera units.
Smoked-black front bumper light strip accents and black brake calipers feature. Every XPENG G6 is backed by a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty for private buyers, with 8-years or 160,000km for the battery and its associated systems.
