Volkswagen’s Wolfsburg Edition returns in Allspace shape

After an absence of three years, a Wolfsburg Edition returns to Volkswagen showrooms down under and for the first time, it’s in Tiguan Allspace form – a vehicle first rumoured back in 2021.

Having first appeared on the Golf R in Australia in 2015, the Wolfsburg Edition is a customer favourite, and last appeared three years ago in Touareg 210TDI and Touareg V8 TDI offerings.

This time round, it’s decked out in a black pack that melds with any of the four available paint colours, including the non-standard Oryx White Pearl (where it looks particularly good).

The primary schemes are Deep Black Pearl Effect, Platinum Grey and Pyrite Silver Metallic, and regardless of colour choice, the package includes 20-inch Suzuka alloys, black roof rails and wing mirror caps, and 90 per cent light absorbing rear privacy glass.

A Sound and Vision package (Harman Kardon sound and area view camera), direct tyre pressure monitoring and, of course, the distinctive Wolfsburg tailgate badge also feature. A total of 1,000 examples will be offered, are are available from the date of this article.

Under the hood is the familiar EA888 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, producing 162kW of power and 350Nm of torque, which is paired to a seven-speed DSG transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel-drive.

Customer deliveries are expected from October, with the Tiguan Allspace Wolfsburg Edition priced at $63,990 plus on-roads. The Oryx White Pearl paint is a $900 option, with a panoramic electric sunroof adding a further $2,100 to the price.
