Vespa releases new GTS Super Tech

THE battle for scooter supremacy is on, with the arrival of the new Vespa GTS Super Tech 300 HPE, with the new range topping model expected to land here in October to take on the likes of the BMW C 400 GT and Peugeot Django Evasion.

The Super Tech features a colour TFT instrument panel and integrated navigation system, along with a 278cc high performance power plant, delivering 17.5kW of power and 26Nm of torque, making it the most powerful and efficient Vespa ever.

The new 4-stroke, 4-valve single cylinder motor is liquid cooled, with electronic injection, a new cylinder head, and totally redesigned internal components, with new port geometry and larger intake and exhaust valves.

A new CVT transmission features new materials designed to reduce friction and noise, while a new cover features sound absorption, with a torque server and more rigid clutch drum aiding smoother operation.

Internationally recognised for its unrivaled classic design and performance in the premium scooter market, the GTS range has evolved even further in 2019, with significant upgrades in styling and technology.

In a brand first, the Super Tech comes with support for smartphone integration, via the VESPA MIA (My Vespa) app, which when connected, allows for the management of calls, thanks to the practical joystick located on the left-hand control block.

You can also use voice commands to make calls and play music, navigate pre-set routes from the app, manage bike status, riding parameters and even travel statistics.

In line with Vespa tradition, the new GTS Super Tech also features a range of accessories designed to personalise your Vespa journey, including a Bluetooth headset, and chrome front and rear luggage racks.

A top case, which can accommodate a full face helmet or two jet helmets, can also be colour matched to the two Vespa HPE bike colours, Matte Back Volcano and Gloss Grigio Materia.

Other accessories include a perimeter guard kit, an all Italian brown real leather seat, and a range of screens. Thermal leg coverings, an anti-slip waterproof foot-board mat, indoor/outdoor bike covers, and a mechanical anti theft system are also available.

Local pricing will be announced at launch, in October.
