VESPA has today launched the new GTS Super and Sprint 150 Racing Sixties scooters, with the new offerings focused on elegant sports styling, while paying homage to the 60s racing era.
The 60s were a legendary period in the history of racing, and featured competitions where performance and agility went hand in hand with the class and elegance of the vehicles and riders.
It is these dynamics that have inspired the new Vespa special series, featuring the new Vespa GTS Super and Vespa Sprint “Racing Sixties” models, presented in green-and-yellow and red-and-white racing inspired colour schemes.
The Sprint 150cc and GTS Super (powered by a 300cc HPE engine) project the feats of legendary sports personalities, conjuring up memories of circuits such as the Monaco or Monza Grand Prix tracks, or historic championships like the Targa Florio.
In addition to the evocative colour schemes, a brand new seat with artisan style stitching, reminiscent of 60s sports cars, has also been added. Matte black features heavily too, including on the passenger grab handle and footrests, and front and rear light settings.
It can also be found on the onboard instrument cluster base, the silencer cover, the rear-view mirrors, and shield trim across both models, as well as on the crest on the front mudguard of the GTS Super “Racing Sixties”.
Chrome plated wheels are replaced with gold metallic wheels. To complete the Vespa GTS Super and Vespa Sprint “Racing Sixties” special series, a range of garments and two coordinating helmet versions have also been designed.
The sweatshirts and t-shirts making up this Vespa special edition offering once again confirm how Vespa is able to cross from a world that is strictly “scooter” to take centre stage in the land of lifestyle.
The helmets offer the comfort of an adjustable ventilation system and feature an external fibreglass shell with anti UV-ray paint and a scratch-proof visor, and boast a sporty yet classic aesthetic that matches the scooter’s colour schemes.
The GTS Super and Vespa Sprint Racing Sixties specials are scheduled to hit Australian shores in June, with pricing for the Sprint 150 starting at $7,690 plus on-roads. The Vespa GTS Super will start at $11,190 plus on-roads.
