Volkswagen Australia has opened a register your interest page on its website for its eagerly awaited ID. Buzz people mover and ID. Buzz Cargo commercial van, ahead of their local public debut this month. First deliveries are to set to arrive in late 2024.
The instantly iconic ‘electric Kombi’ will make its first appearance at the Volkswagen Cronulla Surf Masters championship on 21 October 2023, alongside dozens of beloved Type 2 originals, all positioned at their spiritual home – the beach.
It’s December 2024 arrival date down under also means Aussies could be able to take first deliveries of the ‘as cool as air cooled’ two-tone coloured van that’s loaded with tech, before Christmas next year.
“There is nothing on the road that melds love-brand heritage with new-age technical sophistication quite like the ID. Buzz,” Volkswagen commercial vehicles director Ryan Davies said.
“In three weekends’ time Aussies can see the first ID. Buzz on our shores at the Volkswagen Cronulla Surf Masters and they are now able to register their interest for the five-seat, seven-seat or Cargo van body styles,” he added.
“We anticipate the coolest battery electric vehicle may quickly become the hottest ticket in town for families, retirees, tradies, surfers and the environmentally conscious all told.”
For those wanting to see it in person at the single day Surf Masters event (where more than 100 of the state’s best shortboarders aged over 28, will compete), a ‘Kombi Rally’ and the ID. Buzz will be positioned beachside at Peryman Square, Cronulla, in Sydney’s south.
