Sporting an increased driving range and improved multimedia, the latest version of the Lexus UX 300e small SUV has arrived in Australian showrooms. First launched here in October 2021, the electric model garnered plenty of praise.
Back with a bigger 72.8kWh battery that now provides for a potential range of 560km (200km more than the previous version), the UX 300e range kicks off with the Luxury grade. It’s priced at $79,990 plus on-road costs.
That puts the entry-level variant within the fringe benefit tax (FBT) exemptions under the Federal Government’s luxury car tax threshold for electric vehicles. It’s joined by a Sports Luxury variant that’s priced from $88,490 plus on-road costs.
Inside, the UX 300e gains the same technology upgrades recently applied to the UX 200 and 250h, with the addition of a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, running the latest Lexus multimedia system.
The new infotainment system is compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, DAB+ digital radio, satellite navigation, wireless phone charging and a Mark Levinson premium audio system.
Among other upgrades is a three-year subscription to Lexus Connected Services, including SOS emergency call, automatic collision notification and stolen vehicle tracking. It also provides access to diagnostics and remote connectivity through the Lexus Connected app.
The UX 300e Luxury is generously appointed with features including dual-zone climate control, washi instrument panel stitching, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and heated rear outboard seats.
NuLuxe synthetic leather upholstery, 17-inch alloys wheels, LED headlamps with static auto-levelling and a full suite of Lexus Safety System + technologies are also included. The Sports Luxury adds leather accented upholstery and a moonroof.
It also gets a head-up display, panoramic view monitor, adaptive high beam system, high-grade three projector LED head lamps with dynamic auto levelling, acoustic front side glass and uniquely designed 18-inch wheels.
All UX 300e owners also receive complimentary Lexus Encore Platinum Electrified benefits including complimentary home charger installation, access to the Chargefox rapid public charging network, Lexus On Demand and valet parking at participating shopping centres.
