Triumph launches Breitling Speed Triple 1200 RR

Triumph Motorcycles and Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling have collaborated to be build a limited edition Speed Triple 1200 RR motorcycle. Restricted to just 270 examples globally, a handful are headed down under.

Set to get here in July/August and priced from $42,990 ride away, the bike is a combination of modern tech and classic style, capturing the two brands shared spirit of bold innovation.

Alongside the Speed Triple 1200 RR Breitling Limited Edition, will be a distinctive Chronomat B01 42 Triumph watch, with those who choose to buy the bike given the unique opportunity to purchase the made-to-order timepiece.

The latter features a carbon dial, brown alligator strap and a case-back engraved with their motorcycle’s unique number, which is inscribed on the top yoke of the bike, creating a unique set where the watch and bike enrich each other’s story.

A fusion of titanium and 18k red gold, graced with an anthracite dial, it echoes the dark shades of the motorcycle, while golden details pay homage to the Speed Triple 1200 RR’s class-leading Öhlins front fork.

Originally designed for the Italian aerobatics team Frecce Tricolori in 1983, the Chronomat bucked the quartz trend by reinstating mechanical chronographs to their former prominence.

As for the bike, it features a bespoke colour scheme, with premium gold hand-painted detailing, a leather seat with French stitching, an exclusive high-specification Akrapovič silencer and ultra-light carbon fibre parts.

Breitling’s presence is in the details, including a custom start screen, the watchmaker’s logo laser-etched onto the machined rear wheel finisher, and a distinct gold badge on the tank. An exhilarating performance machine, the Speed Triple 1200 RR impresses.

Featuring Öhlins semi-active suspension, a track-derived specification and beautifully crafted cockpit fairing accentuating its signature single rounded headlight, it’s a highly desirable motorcycle.
