Triple treat returns as Skoda adds 3-pot turbo to Kamiq range

There’s good news for Skoda fans, with the return of the Kamiq 85TSI, which is now in Style spec. Equipped with a turbocharged 1.0-litre engine mated to a 7-speed direct shift gearbox (DSG), it delivers 85kW of power and 200Nm of torque.

The three-cylinder engine has impressive fuel economy, at just 5.4-litres/100km, undercutting several of its nearest competitors. Marking the entry point for the range, it offers high levels of standard equipment.

This includes 18-inch Crater alloy wheels, seven air bags, front assist with city emergency brake, lane assist and adaptive cruise control. Additional convenience items include keyless entry with smart start, LED lighting with animated turn signals, and an electric tailgate.

Rain-sensing wipers, wireless phone charging and rear parking sensors also feature. The rest of the Kamiq range is made up of the 110TSI Monte Carlo, and the similarly powered Signature.

The former is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine developing 110kW, with its specs highlighted by 18-inch VEGA alloy wheels, 15mm-lower sports suspension, sporty black exterior highlights, and a panoramic glass sun roof.

It also grabs an adaptive front light system with cornering lights, animated front turn signals, Monte Carlo sports seats and sports pedals. An optional Travel Pack adds front parking sensors, park assist, side assist, and rear traffic alert.

It also includes heated front and rear-outboard seats, a heated steering wheel with DSG paddles, 9.2-inch central infotainment screen with satellite navigation, wireless smartphone mirroring, a SKODA sound system and voice control.

The Kamiq 110TSI Signature bundles key Travel Pack features, and adds leather/Suedia upholstery, silver roof rails, and an electrically adjustable driver’s seat. A panoramic roof can be optioned on the 85TSI Style.

All Skoda Kamiq models are available in Candy White, Moon White Metallic, Graphite Grey Metallic, Magic Black Pearl, Brilliant Silver Metallic, Velvet Red Premium, Race Blue Metallic and Phoenix Orange Metallic.

All new Skoda’s come with a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, with three, five and seven year service packs available. The 2022 Kamiq 85TSI Style is priced at $37,990, with the 110TSI Monte Carlo at $41,990 and the 110TSI Signature at $42,990.
