AS Toyota continues to celebrate the 60th anniversary year of its formal establishment in Australia, it has launched the limited edition LandCruiser 200 Series Sahara Horizon, featuring bespoke styling treatments, including a unique grille with a dark finish.
Black headlight and smoked chrome front fog light surrounds have also been added, as well as semi-aniline leather accented seats with unique stitching and LandCruiser embossed into the backrest, and a black leather accented heated steering wheel.
Based on the top of the range LC 200 Sahara, just 400 units of the new Horizon variant will be made available. The package also comes with unique door trim stitching, a black interior and headliner with chrome accents, and special Horizon badging.
Toyota Australia’s VP of sales and marketing, Sean Hanley, said the LandCruiser held an iconic place in Australia’s automotive history and the special edition Horizon model was a celebration of that.
“Toyota’s history in Australia started with the original LandCruisers brought into the country to work on the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme back in 1958 and since then, LandCruiser has played a role in the lives of people across the country from the bush to the beach,” Mr Hanley said.
“This new special edition Horizon model offers LandCruiser customers stylish and more distinctive visual appeal in a vehicle that remains as capable and competent on and off the road, wherever they choose to travel,” he said.
The final piece of limited edition kit is front and rear puddle lamps with the LandCruiser logo, while under the bonnet is a 4.5-litre V8 turbo diesel that drives all four wheels, complete with a full set of low range ratios through a six speed automatic transmission.
The 200 Series Sahara Horizon is equipped with LED lights, side steps, 18-inch alloy wheels, a moon roof, power adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, 4-zone climate control, a multi terrain monitor, premium audio, a rear seat DVD player and SatNav.
A comprehensive suite of Toyota Safety Sense features includes a pre-collision safety system with pedestrian detection, active cruise control, automatic high beam, reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.
