EACH year, Reader’s Digest approaches ordinary consumers to ask their opinions on which brands are important to them. Now in its twentieth year, the survey awards Trusted Brand status to winners in 40 categories, including cars and tyres.
For the latter, Bridgestone has retained the title of Australia’s most trusted tyre brand for a sixth consecutive year, and has been the sole recipient of the award since tyres were added as a category in 2014.
“Being named Australia’s most trusted tyre brand for a sixth time in 2019 is an incredible feat and we’re honoured to have the recognition from Australian motorists,” Bridgestone Australia and New Zealand managing director Stephen Roche said.
“Trust is something that is hard to earn, and easy to lose. We are dedicated to ensuring we build on the trust we have earned with Australian motorists over the years through providing quality, reliable tyres, as well as giving back to the community,” he said.
“For Bridgestone, trust is crucial. Just one hand print of tread per tyre connects a car to the road, so it’s vital that motorists can turn to a trusted tyre brand in Bridgestone, and have peace of mind when they drive,” he added.
Toyota Australia is a multi-year winner of the category for trusted car brands, having won the award some 16 years in a row. In 2019 it has continued its winning ways, not simply for the way in which it delivers on customer experience for its owners.
Toyota has also led the hybrid charge when it introduced petrol-electric engines, and continues to lead the market in alternative fuel sources, partnering with the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to build Victoria’s first integrated hydrogen site.
As well as that, the local arm of the Japanese car maker gives back to the community in many different ways, including raising more than $270,000 to assist drought-affected communities in rural and regional Australia.
Toyota’s Good for Footy programme, which focuses on community clubs, has raised more than $5.7 million for grassroots football. This year, the brand is also celebrating its twentieth year as the major sponsor of Planet Ark’s National Tree Day.
