VOLKSWAGEN is bringing back the Wolfsburg badge in the form of 100 V8 Touareg units and 200 examples fitted with the latest V6 turbo diesel. Significantly, the V8 offering will be the last to offer the formidable 4.0-litre 310kW/900Nm turbo diesel.
At 4.9 seconds, barely behind the Golf R’s 0-100km/h time, the Wolfsburg V8 joins the 200 Touareg R-Line V8s that go on sale late this year. The Touareg Wolfsburg V6 is equipped with the latest EU6 version of the Volkswagen Group’s 3.0-litre TDI.
This is good for 210KW/600Nm and a Golf GTI-challenging 6.5 second 0-100km/h time. The new Black Style package renders the Wolfsburg Edition the most visually arresting Touareg of the current generation.
It is comprised of a blacked out front grille which extends into the headlight cluster. Gloss black mirror caps are complimented by the gloss black window surrounds, black roof rails and gloss black 21-inch Suzuka alloy wheels.
These unique enhancements to the popular R-Line package endow the Wolfsburg Edition with an aggressive demeanor which can be refined with exclusive Midnight Blue metallic paint.
Essentially the 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition mirrors the V8 TDI Wolfsburg Edition, which means that night vision and direct tyre pressure monitors are available on the 210TDI for the first time. Soft closing doors are exclusive to the Touareg Wolfsburg Edition. If the door is not fully closed, the door will automatically pull shut.
The 2021 Vollkswagen Touareg Wolfsburg V6 starts from $119,990, and come packed full of features. Safety is at paramount too, with IQ DRIVE front assist with pedestrian monitoring, lane assist with adaptive lane guidance, and emergency assist.
Travel assist, adaptive cruise control, side assist with front and rear cross traffic assist, park assist, driver fatigue detection, 360 degree proactive occupant protection, front and rear parking sensors and area view, also features.
Inside you’ll grab the Innovision package, which adds 15-inch Discover Premium, 12.3-inch digital cockpit, windshield projected head-up display, additional ambient interior lighting with 30 selectable colours, and a volume scroll wheel.
A gloss black centre console, electronic tailgate with easy open and close, and keyless access and start also feature, and you’ll also gain LED headlights, daytime driving lights and tail lights, automatic headlights, auto dimming mirrors and rain sensing wipers.
A 9.2-inch Discover Pro navigation system with App-Connect is also included, along with four USB ports and wireless phone charging.
Your backside will meet with Vienna Leather appointed trim, and heated and electric front seats, while your face and body can soak up the cool air-conditioning thanks to the Air Care 2-zone climate control with hard key control.
For those looking to get a little crazy through some tight corners, drivers will be able to choose from a number of Driving profile selections with 4MOTION Active Control, but benefit from all-wheel steering and active roll stabilization.
