Tesla confirms pricing and specs for Model Y L

The first-ever Tesla Model Y L, featuring a longer wheelbase, a redesigned roof line, and a six-seat interior, will be available to order from today (March 13 2026) in Australia. Visually larger than its sibling, it will be offered in Premium All-Wheel Drive trim only.

Launching with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating, it comes with a rear spoiler, 19-inch Machina 2.0 wheels with removeable aero covers, and an exclusive ‘Cosmic Silver’ exterior colour. It measures 4,969mm, which is 177mm longer than the five-seat version.

Vehicle width remains the same, but it is 44mm taller at 1,668mm. Inside, the Model Y L is equipped with a 16-inch central touchscreen and an 8-inch rear screen for the second row, for a more immersive tech experience.

The phone wireless charging pad, which is wrapped in vegan leather, has a centre slit for air circulation and active cooling via a fan while on charge. The driver’s side unit gets an increase in power to 50 watts.

The Model Y L has an 18-speaker audio system plus a subwoofer (19 total) and is offered solely in a six-seat layout. The front seats are heated and ventilated with adjustable headrests and adjustable thigh support.

The second row features captain’s chairs with electric adjustment and flat fold adjustment at the touch of a button, while the third row provides two additional seats with adjustable headrests, which are heated and electronically flat folding.

There are USB-C ports in both rear rows, and a new Zen Grey interior colour is offered as an option. A total of 2,539-litres of cargo space is available. The Model Y L has the same suspension as the current five-seater but adds continuous variable damping.

The adaptive suspension – which can be set to Balanced or Rear Comfort – reacts quicker to road conditions and progressive driving styles for vehicle ride quality and handling. On the road, it offers 378kW of power and 590Nm of torque.

It can sprint to 100km/h in 5.0 seconds and has a range of 681km (WLTP). DC fast charging is up to 250kW. Tipping the scales at 2,088kg, it has a braked towing capacity of 1588kg and is the first Tesla model to offer V2L in Australia.

The Tesla Model Y L will be priced at $74,900 plus on-roads and is backed by a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty and 5-years roadside assist. Orders are now open, with more information available on the Tesla Australia website.
