Suzuki has officially launched the highly anticipated 5-door Jimny XL. Building on the strength of the nameplate and its heritage, it solidifies the iconic little off-roader’s popularity and offers the same engine specs as the 3-door variant.
Upgraded features include a new 9.0-inch multimedia touchscreen with DAB radio, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise control on the automatic, and a next-generation dual camera brake support system.
It sports a Grey Metallic painted front grille with chrome accents and is available in six exterior colours, including Arctic White, Chiffon Ivory with Black Roof, Bluish Black Pearl
Granite Grey, Sizzling Red with Black Roof, Jungle Green.
It will be priced at $34,990 for the manual and $36,490 for the auto, both plus on-roads, and can be ordered at dealerships. The Jimny XL joins the 3-door standard model in manual and auto, and the manual only Lite variant.
Suzuki had previously paused orders on the 3-door auto offering, but due to increased production opportunities in 2024, the car maker’s local operation has managed to secure a greater supply on the Jimny.
“While back orders are still reaching as far as the second half of 2024, we have managed to secure incremental volume that will allow us to flick the switch back on for the auto transmission in [the] Jimny,” Suzuki Australia’s Michael Pachota said.
“This ties in perfectly with the exciting launch of Jimny XL to complete our total product offering of the Suzuki Jimny for Australia in 2024.”
