SUBARU is headed for its 10th consecutive shot at the Nurburgring 24-Hour this weekend, running an all-wheel-drive WRX STi in the SP3T class (for turbocharged vehicles up to 2.0-litres).
Aiming for its third win in a row at the event, the car will be campaigned by the company’s motor sport and performance arm Subaru Tecnica International (STi), and driven by Carlo van Dam (Netherlands), Marcel Lasée (Germany), Tim Schrick (Germany), and Hideki Yamauchi (Japan).
To improve acceleration and maximum speed, a range of improvements have been made, including increased engine output, paddle shifters and enhanced transmission performance, as well as optimised chassis geometry, improved stiffness balance, reduced body weight, lowered moment of inertia, and increased front down force.
The changes are aimed at maximising the WRX STi’s inherent speed and responsiveness.
