SUBARU’s best-selling Forester range is expanding further in 2021, with the addition of a 2.5i Sport variant, due in showrooms in October. The new model follows on from the launch of two new Forester Hybrid variants earlier this year.
The Forester 2.5i Sport AWD features new 18-inch alloy wheels in a dark metallic finish, LED front fog lights with black coloured surround, black coloured front grille surround and rear garnish, and front, side and rear under guards with orange highlights.
Roof rails feature orange inserts, while there’s also exterior Sport badging and an electric sunroof. Inside, there’s a water repellent grey cloth trim, orange highlights around the air vents and shift panel, and orange stitching.
Piano black surrounds feature on the rear armrest cup holders, with a chrome look edge for power window switches, internal rear gate lamp (LED) and cargo room lamp (LED).
The Forester 2.5i Sport AWD is the only variant available in Dark Blue, and all 2021 Foresters share a revised headlight design, with a darkened area around the main beam bulb.
There is good news for Forester towing enthusiasts too as the maximum towing capacity is increased from 1,500 kg to 1,800 kg for all non-hybrid variants. Also added across the range is auto door lock/unlock and a collision detection unlock function.
The latter is intended to unlock doors and tailgate in the event of a heavy collision, reducing the possibility of occupants being trapped in the vehicle. The 2021 Forester 2.5i Sport AWD is priced from $41,990 plus on-road costs.
“We are delighted to offer even more choice in the Forester range,” Subaru Australia managing director Christian Dinsdale said.
“The 2.5i Sport AWD is the third variant we have added to the initial four offerings in the current generation and it’s an eye-catching and practical wagon that only enhances Forester’s customer appeal.”
