It’s the car that will supersede Subaru’s super seller XV small SUV; the 2023 symmetrical all-wheel drive Crosstrek is bound for Australia. Representing a step change in driver and passenger ergonomics and comfort, the new model has been years in development.
“We’re excited to confirm the next-generation XV is coming to Australia soon, and it will carry the Crosstrek nameplate,” Subaru Australia managing director Blair Read said.
“The new name embodies what the Crosstrek does and is, an all-wheel drive crossover small SUV that’s capable of trekking almost anywhere you please, whether that’s urban driving or outdoor adventures, with absolute confidence and enjoyment.”
With rugged styling, and the latest safety and infotainment technology, the Crosstrek has been designed based on a human-centred approach, with Subaru working with medical schools to deliver an intuitive connection between driver, vehicle and road.
It features cutting-edge safety features, including the latest generation EyeSight driver assist system, and new driver monitoring system known as Driver Focus, which offers another layer of safety to help reduce the chance of accidents.

Nine SRS airbags provide additional support, with the new Crosstrek further underpinned by the Subaru Global Platform with a refined inner frame that increases cabin strength and delivers a quieter and more comfortable ride.
Inside the cabin, state-of-the-art intuitive technology increases user-friendliness and convenience, with an 11.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, along with wireless smartphone charging.
Under the bonnet, the Subaru Crosstrek will be powered by a sporty yet refined direct injection 2.0-litre Boxer engine, with a Lineartronic transmission, with 8-speed paddle shift manual mode. A Hybrid variant will also be available.
More information regarding the final Australian specification for this model will be revealed in the coming months. In the meantime, customers can register their interest at subaru.com.au/crosstrek
