In other news, BMW has confirmed pricing and specs for its seventh generation 7 Series flagship sedan, which will be available for the first time with an all-electric drive system via the BMW i7.

Offered exclusively as a long wheelbase version, the 7 Series has a commanding presence, exemplified by monolithic surfaces and new signature front-end styling, with headlight units split into two sections.

Daytime running lights feature Swarovski crystals, while automatic opening and closing doors are accompanied by a ‘Grand Entrance’ light sequence. The BMW Interaction Bar features decorative interior lighting and imperceptible air vents as well.

The rear-seat entertainment experience is headlined by a 31.3-inch 8K BMW theatre screen, while a BMW Individual Merino leather/cashmere wool interior exudes supreme comfort and luxury.

BMW Australia will launch with two models: the 740i and fully electric i7 xDrive60. The former is powered by a TwinPower turbo in-line six cylinder engine, paired with 48-volt mild hybrid technology to deliver 280kW and 540Nm.

The fully electric i7 xDrive60 incorporates fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology, with dual motors to produce 400kW and 745Nm, and will come with a third generation BMW Wallbox as standard, along with a complimentary 5-year Chargefox subscription.

Both will come with service packages, and are priced at $268,900 for BMW 740i and $297,900 for i7 xDrive60. In each case, that’s plus on-roads. Customer deliveries will commence in Q4 of this year.
