IT’S been hailed as the most advanced vehicle Korean car maker SsangYong has ever produced, with the new Korando mid-sized SUV now winging its way to dealerships across Australia.
Delivering a compelling combination of class leading value, features and safety, the Korando is expected to be a game changer for the brand, and launches with two limited edition diesel models; the ELX LE and Ultimate LE.
Both models are powered by SsangYong’s 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine, outputting 100kW and 324Nm, mated to an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission, and offers fuel efficiency as low as 5.5-litres/100km for the front-wheel drive ELX LE model.
Occupant and pedestrian safety has been top of mind throughout the development of the new Korando, with features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, front collision warning and a reversing camera all standard.
Comfort and convenience levels rival those of vehicles at a significantly higher price point, with the ELX LE featuring a new 10.25-inch full colour LCD instrument cluster, an 8-inch smart audio touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Buyers will also find auto on/off and auto-levelling headlights, rain-sensing wipers and heated auto folding side mirrors. The range-topping Ultimate LE model adds power adjustable heated and cooled front seats and a heated leather steering wheel.
It also scores tyre pressure monitoring, LED headlights, a power tailgate and dual zone climate control. Every model in the new Korando range is covered by SsangYong’s industry leading 777 customer care package.
It provides owners with a 7-year warranty, 7-years roadside assist and 7 year service price guarantee for both private and fleet customers. Drive away pricing for the new Korando ELX LE will start from $32,990.
It’s specced up sibling, the Ultimate LE will fetch a drive away price of $39,990. The new model is available in dealerships now. The entire Korando range has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.
