‘Special’ 500 goes on sale

IT is a forever icon. The kind of car that was iconic the day it was launched, and remains that way today. Sixty years ago in Turin, Italy, the Fiat brand launched production of the ever-iconic Fiat 500 ‘Cinquecento’ model.

Dubbed the ‘great little car’, the vehicle stands for discovery through passionate self-expression. To mark the occasion, Fiat Australia has launched the Fiat 500 Anniversario Special-Edition.

“We’re genuinely excited at the arrival of the Fiat 500 Anniversario special edition,” said Fulvio Antonelli, Head of Fiat Brand Australia.

“Our Fiat 500 special edition variants have historically proven extremely popular and we expect that with only 60 vehicles available, the Anniversario will be no different as it represents a great value proposition for a piece of automotive history.”

Based on the iconic Lounge 1.2 litre hatchback, the Anniversario’s stylistic details are a modern reworking of its great forerunner’s unmistakable design signature and each of the 60 vehicles available are fitted with a unique individually numbered “Anniversario” build plaque.

The new special edition has a Sixties look that references some of the historic key features of the car, including two new, exclusive colours inspired by the liveries of the timeless icon; Riviera Green and Sicilia Orange; and new seats in horizontal striped fabric with contrast piping and an embroidered 500 logo.

There is also chrome accents on the bonnet and mirror caps, vintage Fiat logos and “Anniversario” logo embroidered floor mats, as well as 16-inch vintage style alloy rims with an alternative diamond finish design which recalls the spokes of classic car wheels.

The new Fiat 500 Anniversario also offers the best of the range in terms of comfort and connectivity with a Uconnect 5-inch infotainment panel, Bluetooth connectivity and radio navigation.

The technological offerings of the Anniversario Special-Edition model allow vehicle occupants to experience the unique heritage of the vehicle, while never missing a beat with connectivity.

Fiat 500 Anniversario Special-Edition models are now on sale from just $21,990 (plus on-roads) in Fiat showrooms throughout Australia.
