Sophisticated new Mitsubishi ASX range confirmed

Due to land in Australia in Q4 of this year, the 2026 Mitsubishi ASX features sophisticated styling, modern connectivity and a smooth, efficient driving experience. It will be offered in three trim levels: LS, Aspire and Exceed.

Pricing kicks off at $37,740, with the Aspire at $42,690 and the Exceed at $46,490 – all plus on-roads. Born from the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance ‘CMF-B’ platform, it sports a uniquely Mitsubishi visual identity that follows the brand’s ‘Dynamic Shield’ philosophy.

The front fascia features a blacked-out bumper section contrasting with a distinctive grille that features three-dimensional silver fillets and a prominent ‘three diamond’ badge, creating a dynamic presence.

Full LED exterior lighting is employed, with the rear lighting sweeping in an elongated c-shape, on either side of the wide ‘MITSUBISHI’ rear lettering. A range of 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels are also available, depending on specification.

At launch, the new Mitsubishi ASX will be powered by an efficient 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. This smooth and responsive engine generates 113kW and a strong 270Nm torque peak.

The combination drives the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Fuel consumption is now 6.4-litres/100km. Comprehensively equipped throughout, with all models feature gloss black door mirrors and climate control air conditioning.

Likewise, paddle shifters, smart card entry, an electric parking brake with auto hold, dusk-sensing headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, and a rear view camera span the range. A range of ADAS driver assistance technology also features.

The list includes driver attention alert, emergency lane assist, forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and prevention, and safe distance warning. The ASX LS comes with a 10.4-inch infotainment system, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

It also scores electrically adjustable, heated door mirrors, a centre console with armrest, manual dimming rear-view mirror, cloth seats (textile black and grey), a height-adjustable driver seat and soft-touch steering wheel.

Cruise control with speed limiter, an Eco drive mode and rear parking sensors feature. The Aspire adds embedded navigation with Google built-in, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 18-inch alloys, privacy glass and electric folding door mirrors.

The ASX Aspire sports a floating front console with e-shifter, ambient interior lighting, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, cloth seats (grey), height-adjustable driver and passenger seats, a heated steering wheel and illuminated vanity mirror (driver and passenger).

Wireless charging adds to the tech package, along with Eco, Comfort, Sport and ‘Perso’ drive modes, front, rear and side parking sensors, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, and Mi-Pilot semi-autonomous driving.

Blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert and safe exit alert complete its safety features. Stepping up to the Exceed adds a panoramic sunroof, two-tone exterior paint, a frameless auto dimming rear view mirror, leather, heated front seats and a powered driver’s seat.

All Mitsubishi ASX’s will be covered by Mitsubishi’s market-leading 10/10 Diamond Advantage warranty and capped price servicing program, which includes a 10-year or 200,000km warranty, and up to 4-years roadside assist.
