Shoei has confirmed its new GT-AIR 3 Smart helmet is headed for Australia in 2026. The first to be fitted with a fully integrated head-up display and intercom, the new offering features what the brand calls ‘Eyelights’ technology.
Revealed at the recent EICMA motorcycle show, it’s expected to land down under in September next year. Pricing for the modified ‘Smart’ version of the actual helmet is likely to sit slightly higher than the $1,250 the standard GT-AIR 3 is offered at.
The Eyelights head-up display (HUD) setup is an additional cost over and above the helmet purchase price, and sits at €599 (around $1100 AUD), according to distributor McLeod Accessories, pushing the total cost to around $2500 locally, or just under.
The display projected onto the visor in the Smart helmet will provide such information as speed, GPS, call information and alerts, with the 3D technology giving the impression the data is floating approximately three metres in front of the rider.
It’s not unlike the augmented reality tech found in some modern cars and SUVs. An improved audio kit and noise-reducing microphone are included as part of the unlimited intercom setup, with the entire system supported by a claimed 10-hours of battery life.

Current GT-AIR 3 owners will miss out on the opportunity to upgrade as the HUD visor is specifically designed to only fit the Smart version of the Shoei helmet. Colours are as yet unconfirmed but are expected to include White, Matte Grey and Matte Black.
Electric Blue and the Sharpen TC10 design are also likely. More details will be available closer to its launch. To find out more about the full range of Shoei helmets, you can visit their website, or talk to your local stockist.
