Racing Together has confirmed Kade Davey will steer its inaugural Toyota 86 Scholarship Series entry, with the campaign for the 2025 season set to align with the program’s commitment to create broader Indigenous Australian participation in motorsport.
Weet-Bix and Carey Mining have signed on as new sponsors, joining Supercheap Auto, National Storage, Norwell Motorplex, Triple Eight Race Engineering, Dick Johnson Racing, Motorsport Australia, Riedel Communications and PWR, who continue their support.
Founded in late 2020 by Motorsport Australia Award of Merit recipient Garry Connelly AM and wife Monique, Racing Together is a not-for-profit that aims to encourage Indigenous participation in motorsport, with the ultimate objective being a career in the industry.
Davey will kick off his campaign at Phillip Island this weekend for the first round, backed-up with drives in the Queensland Hyundai Excel Series later this year. Alongside him, Karlai
Warner will also race in Excels and Production Touring Cars.
The latter highlights the program’s proven pathways for getting Indigenous drivers into race seats. Both Kade and Karlai have been mentored and trained by the legendary Paul Morris at Norwell Motorplex.
Davey will be on track at Phillip Island from March 1-2, with the Toyota 86 Scholarship Series continuing its 2025 season in the newly appointed Trophy Tour at Sydney Motorsport Park and Queensland Raceway.
From there, the racing returns to the Motorsport Australia Series again in Queensland at Morgan Park Raceway, before finishing on August 22-24 at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for the South Australian Motor Racing Championship.
