Backpacks, like the Quad Lock Traverse, are one of those items that just get the job done without being the hero of your bike accessories. They are critical though, whether you’re commuting or just lugging your gear in everyday life.
You probably know the brand for their array of phone mounts, but that’s not all they do. And in this case, the new backpack has been developed in partnership with Thule. We’ve been utilising it for loads of tasks and it has integrated perfectly into our lives.
The Quad Lock Traverse Backpack combines all-day comfort, everyday protection, weather resistance, and smart organisation, ensuring your gear stays secure, protected, and easily accessible whether you’re commuting on foot, by train, or on a bike.
That statement is a pretty apt description of this unit, even if directly quoted from the manufacturer themselves. There are plenty of storage pockets to keep all of your gear organised, a designated laptop compartment and space for your sunglasses as well.
This ensures that everything stays where it should, protected while you are in motion. We’ve spent a good portion of our testing time using The Traverse Backpack on the bike, and for overnight trips, and it has come up trumps every time.
On the go, it’s comfortable, with breathable shoulder straps and a padded back panel that provides plenty of support, with the added bonus of a sternum strap a must when you’re commuting on two wheels.
It looks good too, with a clean and understated exterior that renders it a professional bit of kit. Contrasting that is the Quad Lock blue interior, which makes items easy to find when rummaging around for small chargers.
That’s particularly good when you’ve dumped everything in a single pocket. For those focused on durability, it’s constructed from Rugged 900D materials, which are engineered for long-term use.
The backpack is finished in a PFC-free DWR coating to help repel rain and there are also weather resistant panels incorporated into the design (we haven’t been caught in nasty weather yet, so can’t confirm its capability on that front).
