IT’S the fastest SUV in its class, powered by a 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol engine producing 375kW of power and 600Nm of torque, and when it hits the market early next year, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio will be priced at $149,900.
That price is plus on-roads of course, but we’re talking about an SUV capable of 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds, thanks to an 8-speed automatic transmission with column mounted paddle shifters to deliver gear shifts in less than 100 milliseconds.
The range-topping Stelvio Quadrifoglio is the latest evolution of the Giorgio architecture and like all Stelvio models, features a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution, class-leading performance and economy.
The Quadrifoglio also features a comprehensive suite of standard active and passive safety features, such as forward collision warning, autonomous emergency breaking, active cruise control, and integrated braking.
The high level interior ambience is defined through use of fine materials – premium natural leather, aluminium and carbon fibre, and completed by the AlfaTMConnect 3D Nav 8.8-inch infotainment system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
A premium mid-sized SUV with a serious rear-biased all-wheel drive performance bent; the Stelvio Quadrifoglio arrives in showrooms in mid-January.
