AHEAD of the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, French car maker Peugeot has unveiled a radical new 508 saloon, offering a lighter, more efficient and more striking design than ever before.
Built on Groupe PSA’s highly awarded and capable EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform 2) Platform, the new 508 is more compact than previous five series models, with a height reduction providing a sharper, more robust exterior design.
The car’s spectacular interior includes an evolution of the iconic Peugeot i-Cockpit, and the new model offers exemplary road-handling, new engines, countless technology features and a quantum leap in quality.
Managing Director for Peugeot Australia, Anouk Poelmann said that the completely redesigned 508 will continue Peugeot’s product and brand led transformation in Australia, that already includes the new 3008 and 5008 models.
“We now turn our attention to the sedan market with the all-new 508 – a vehicle that encapsulates the best in French design, engineering and allure,” Poelmann said.
“In Australia, the revered 504 and 505 underpinned the motoring experience for generations of families and executives, and this all-new 508 will once again place Peugeot at the forefront of the segment.”
The new flagship luxury sedan is expected to include a range of safety features, including a night-vision system, the latest-generation automatic emergency braking and collision-risk alert functions, and improved lane keeping assist and driver attention alert.
Improved lane keeping and lane positioning assist, an adaptive cruise control system with stop and go function, and extended traffic sign recognition are also expected to be part of the driver assistance package.
The Peugeot 508 will launch in Europe in late 2018 and follow in Australia. A launch date, specifications, pricing and model line-up will be confirmed closer to this time.
