Orage Cleaning Wipes (product review)

If you’re one of those people who clean their pride and joy after every ride or drive, or someone who intends to do said task but finds it too tedious, the recently launched Orage Cleaning Wipes might be just the ticket.

From the good people at Unpass Australia, Orage Cleaning Wipes offer a waterless solution that works remarkably well on motorcycles, cars and even the humble pushbike. That said, it’s fair to say we had our doubts about the manufacturer’s claims before we tried them.

A few mates with a couple of bikes gave us the chance to put this product to the test though and we’ve got to say, the results are nothing short of impressive. It’s a simple and time efficient two step process to get the most out of the Orage Cleaning Wipes.

A product not dissimilar to baby wipes, they come in a canister that contains 65 individual wet cloths. You clean the bike with those, essentially wetting it down, before using a supplied microfibre cloth to dry it off.

After cleaning everything we could find on multiple bikes, we were sold. Every surface, regardless of whether they were matte or gloss paint surfaces, chrome, plastics, metal bits, all came clean.

Designed by a chemical company in France, they’ve been a huge success in Europe, and it’s easy to understand why. It’s genuinely hard to fault either the process or the results, making Orage Cleaning Wipes very handy indeed.

Sure, they won’t replace a proper bath, polish and top-to-bottom detailing on your favourite bike or car, but they are perfect for in-between cleans. We should know, they’ve been an absolute God send for us at on-location bike photo shoots.

They’re the perfect solution to wiping away road grime and dust. The wipes also leave behind a water-repellent film that ensures your machine gets an extra layer of protection from rain and other elements.

As an added bonus, they’re also eco-friendly, being silicone oil free and non-flammable. They have a low V.O.C content level, and no nasty endocrine disruptors. In a nutshell, that means they won’t hammer the environment when you toss them in the bin.

Priced from $39.90 (plus postage), you can check out Orage Cleaning Wipes along with a host of other products on the Unpass Australia website. Free shipping is available for orders over $50, and you can buy replacement wipes without the microfibre cloth slightly cheaper.

Our test product was provided by Unpass Australia. Exhaust Note Australia has not been paid to review this product.

Pros: handy; easy to use on the run; no need for water or a sponge.

Cons: the need to purchase (when you likely have a bucket and hose).
