IN recognition of the Subaru Liberty’s 31 years of success in Australia, a very exclusive Final Edition of just 31 vehicles, is now on sale. Based on the Liberty 2.5i Premium, the last ever variant adds a long list of extra equipment.
Priced at $39,930 (plus on-roads), the Liberty Final Edition features 18-inch STI alloy wheels, an STI front lip spoiler, rear boot lip spoiler, a mesh pattern front grille, numbered internal badge and a Harman/Kardon sound system, with a subwoofer and amp.
The interior updates don’t stop there either, with ultrasuede inserts on the front and rear seats, and blue stitching adorning not only the seats, but the armrests and dash. Black stitching and highlights have also been used on the steering wheel.
Meanwhile, the interior grabs black highlights across the air vents, dash, door trim as well. The black theme continues on the outside too, with highlights on the fog light surround, side skirt garnish, door mirror covers and rear exterior badges.
Adding to the Final Edition cache, is it is only available in three colours, each with a different coloured alloy wheel. Just 15 examples will be available in Magnetite Grey with black wheels, while there’ll be 10 in Crystal Black with silver wheels.
The remaining six cars will be Crystal White, with gun metal coloured wheels. News of the Final Edition follows Subaru’s confirmation in September that after 31 years as a cornerstone of its range, the end of the Liberty era was imminent.
“We wanted to mark the end of Liberty’s distinguished history with the brand in a truly exclusive way and these individually numbered vehicles are a tribute to what it has contributed to Subaru over more than three decades,” Subaru Australia general manager Blair Read said.
