THE crazy German tuners at Novitec have created a monster version of the McLaren 600LT. Riding on 21-inch hi-tech Vossen forged wheels, it has a top speed of 333km/h and is quite simply, insane.
It’s the kind of car that’s so next level that you want to give it a name. And as you might expect with Novitec, there is no such thing as having too much power.
Consequently the company has created a three-tiered range of performance upgrades for the twin-turbo eight-cylinder engine in the 600LT.
But let’s forget about the two lesser ones, and focus on the top level upgrades that deliver 506kW of power and 712Nm of torque, and a mental 2.8 second 0-100km/h sprint time – all at the push of a button.
By the way, they’ve added a tailor-made RACE high performance sports exhaust system that delivers the fittingly thrilling acoustic accompaniment.
There’s even a special boot lid and a two-piece naked-carbon air-box to give the mid-engine sports car a more athletic appearance.
All that power benefits the performance of the two-seater on the road too, with faster throttle response and more powerful in-gear acceleration, while the entire exhaust system is thermally insulated to keep the engine bay as cool as possible.
Those Vossen wheels are also staggered special, much like the wheels on Cole Trickle’s car in Days of Thunder, to provide for different diameters at the front and rear, adding emphasis to the wedge shape of the 600LT.
The front axle is fitted with size 8.5Jx20 wheels and 235/30 ZR 20 Pirelli P Zero high-performance tires. The rear axle runs on size 305/30 ZR 21 tires mounted on 11.5Jx21 rims. There’s Novitec sports springs too, which lower the ride height by a further 30mm.
And finally, as if all that wasn’t enough, Novitec can build buyers of their ‘special’ 600LT a custom interior, crafted from the finest leathers and Alcantara in any desired color.
