Nissan unveils weapons-grade Patrol NISMO in Middle East

A potentially track-focused, angrier Nissan Patrol has been revealed in the Middle East, with the unveiling of a NISMO edition of the Y63. The next generation of the Japanese car maker’s flagship SUV, it’s expected in Australia in late 2026 or early 2027.

Out of the same hands of the boffins who created the Z NISMO, the new performance Patrol, which will be available in the Middle East and United States in five colours, sports an exclusive Stealth Grey paint scheme.

But it’s in the specs that we see the biggest differences over the standard Patrol. Lowered suspension and a new body kit lower ride height and reduce ground clearance to 195mm (from 244mm), while there’s a new grille and front bumper.

Changes to the splitter, side air vents and skirts also feature, as does a new rear bumper with a diffuser and a rear spoiler. Longer and wider than the standard model, and definitely not aimed at off-roading, the NISMO edition is faster and more powerful too.

Riding on 22-inch wheels, the cool kids in Japan have re-tuned the twin-turbo powerplant (a 3.5-litre V6 petrol offering that replaces the current Y62 V8) – which now develops, at least for the Middle East market, 369kW of power in Sport mode.

The standard version of the new Patrol, for comparison, offers 316kW of power. Torque sits at 700Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via the same 9-speed auto found in the Z NISMO, while a variant-specific exhaust system also features.

Inside, the famed NISMO black and red colour scheme features across the interior, which is a mixture of suede and leather. As one might expect from a vehicle of this nature, there’s splashes of performance goodness throughout.

That includes a red centre-marker on the steering wheel, coloured seatbelts and embroidered headrests in the looks department, and custom adaptive dampers, tweaked steering and vehicle dynamics in its on-road performance.

A Nissan Australia spokesperson described the Y63 Patrol NISMO unveiling as very exciting, confirming that we are the first right hand drive market for the brand’s new model, and that orders will open in late 2026.

Nissan Australia will confirm specifications and pricing (and whether we’ll see the PRO-4X off road focused, or performance focused NISMO variants) closer to launch.
