New tech and safety updates for 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe

The multi award-winning Hyundai Santa Fe seven-seat SUV has been upgraded for 2022, with a range of safety upgrades, as well as additional comfort and convenience features for selected models.

Available in four variants, including the base model simply known as the Santa Fe, as well as the Active, Elite and Highlander, each will be offered with either a 3.5-litre petrol V6 engine (in 2WD), or a 2.2-litre CRDi diesel (in AWD).

The Santa Fe Active variant also receives a new chrome exterior treatment, which is unique in the range. The safety upgrades include new to Santa Fe centre airbag and multi-collision brake made standard across the range.

Multi-collision braking operates to prevent or reduce the severity of a secondary collision, and is activated after the airbags have deployed and, where brake or accelerator pedal input is not detected.

In this situation, it applies the brakes to bring the car safely to a stop. Also standard across the range is the addition of a USB port in the third row. The Elite variant also grabs additional premium appointments.

These include a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and heated front seats, as well as LED taillights on the exterior. Updates for 2022 come with a slight price increase across the Santa Fe range.

The 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe kicks off at $45,550 in 2WD and $49,050 for the AWD, with the Active priced at $49,750 and $53,250 respectively. The Elite is $56,000 in 2WD and $59,500 in AWD.

The range topping Highlander is $62,550 in 2WD and $66,050 in AWD. All prices are plus on-roads. The price increases equate to $850 on the Santa Fe, $1,450 on the Active, $1,700 on the Elite and $850 on the Highlander.
