New Lamborghini Urus S resets super SUV benchmark

Lamborghini is replacing its original Urus super SUV with a new S variant offering 490kW of power, matching the output of the high performance Performante. The new model will be more luxurious than its predecessor.

Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 850Nm of torque, the Urus S can now accelerate to 100km/h in just 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 305km/h. It features six drive modes, plus an EGO mode.

A retuned exhaust system reminds everyone that the Super SUV is a true Lamborghini, with a more distinct sound at start-up and a sharper note in each drive mode. Adaptive air suspension ensures smooth handling, both on and off road.

With the same powertrain calibration as the Urus Performante, the Urus S delivers optimum responsiveness and performance, alongside luxurious everyday driving pleasure from its finely-tuned chassis settings.

There’s a significant increase in options in terms of colours, trim, wheels, style packages and special details, allowing for further customisation. A new front bumper design adopts more refined lines and incorporates a new matte black-painted stainless steel skid plate.

A new lightweight carbon fibre painted bonnet comes with matte black air vents, with optional finishes to the vents in gloss black, body colour or carbon fibre in shiny or matte finish. An optional visible carbon fibre roof lends an athleticism to the new Urus S.

New rear bumper styling affords a more streamlined and elegant appearance. A matte black-painted lower part features a new twin-pipe exhaust design in brushed steel as standard, with optional matte or shiny black, or Ad Personam option in bright chrome.

New rim options are offered alongside the standard 21-inch wheel, including 22-inch Nath rims with titanium matte and diamond polish finish, while 23-inch Taigete wheels can be selected in bronze and diamond polish alternatives.

The interior of the Urus S is presented with a fully-revised colour and trim offer. A new Bi-colour Sportivo, and a new Bi-colour Sophisticated option feature the Performante stitching pattern. The former is more discreet and uses complementary colours for styling.

The latter is a black leather trim with new contrast colour options, with a refined Blu Leandro and Verde Aura alongside tan, cream and brown. Connectivity in the Urus S includes connected navigation, security features and several in-car control services.

Services such as remote park via the Lamborghini Unica App can also be managed via smartphone integration, with the enhancement of smartwatch controls including the virtual car key function. Local pricing, launch details and final specs are yet to be announced.
