New GWM Tank 300 Hybrid launches down under

The GWM Tank 300 is now on sale in Australia, offering buyers unbeatable levels of toughness and sophistication from just $55,990 drive away. With a bold exterior, world-class 4WD technology, luxurious interior and advanced tech, it’s set to challenge its rivals.

Poised to become a strong option for those looking to explore Australian roads, tracks and beyond, and powered by a 2.0-litre turbo hybrid engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission, it offers 180kW and 380Nm from its petrol engine.

An electric motor serves up an additional 78kW and 268Nm. Towing capacity is an impressive 2500kg. Built on GWM’s global off-road platform, the Tank 300 has been designed to perform in all conditions.

Generous ground clearance of 224mm is matched to a 33-degree approach and 34-degree departure angle. Spacious inside, the Tank 300 is available in two grades, Lux and Ultra, with generous levels of standard equipment available across both.

Headline features on the Lux includes 17-inch alloy wheels, 6-way power driver seat, Comfort-Tek leather seats, leather steering wheel, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and similarly sized infotainment, front and rear USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

A 9-speaker audio system and 7-colour ambient lighting also features, along with DAB+ digital radio, auto-folding, heated power exterior mirrors and LED headlights and taillights. There’s also a sun roof, and two 12V power outlets.

Safety tech includes tyre pressure monitoring, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, front collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition and rear cross traffic alert with brake.

You’ll also find crawl control, tank turn, a transparent chassis function, and front and rear parking sensors. The Ultra adds 18-inch alloy wheels, Nappa leather, heated and cooled front seats, and an 8-way power driver seat with massage function.

Wireless phone charging, a better sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 220V power outlet (luggage cabin), front diff lock, improved under-body protection, auto parking and auto reverse tracking also feature on the range topping model.

It’s priced at $60,990 drive away. The Tank 300 is available in five colours: Lunar Red, Hamilton White, Dusk Orange, Fossil Grey and Crystal Black, and comes with a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty, and 5-years roadside assist and capped price servicing.
