Moto Guzzi sets path forward with V100 Mandello

USHERING in a new era for the historic Italian brand, Moto Guzzi has revealed the V100 Mandello. Named after its factory, the motorcycle’s stunning lines, cutting-edge engine and state-of-the-art technologies serve as a benchmark for the next 100 years.

Set to launch at EICMA International Motorcycle Show on 23 November this year, the bike is just one part of a major overhaul for Moto Guzzi, who are also undertaking a major preservation and restoration project at their factory.

Being developed under the watchful eye of world-famous US architect and designer Greg Lynn, the redevelopment will involve the entire Mandello site. The unique project will comprise open spaces for public use and a meeting place for the local community.

That’s in addition to its role as a motorcycle factory, with the new concept founded on culture, design and mechanics, with a strong green focus, in line with contemporary trends.

As an initiative towards environmental sustainability and efficiency of resources, the new buildings will also utilise the existing structures, with materials chosen with close attention to efficient energy management.

They will utilise photovoltaic systems and eco-sustainable materials, with the site aimed at being a focal point for Moto Guzzi enthusiasts, as well as international tourists interested in the history and charms of the brand.

The extension of the factory’s production capacity, to match the constant growth in demand, will be part of a completely new approach for the development of the new factory.

The project will create new conference facilities to host both internal and external events, as well as a hotel and restaurant, for a complete range of amenities to welcome visitors from around the world.

Work will commence by late 2021, and will be completed in the first half of 2025.
