Mitsubishi has introduced a new option for its flagship Triton GSR dual cab ute, adding a “Special Edition” that features a distinctive look. It also benefits from the introduction of an enhanced adaptive cruise control system.
The latter, which will be fitted to all new variants, now remains engaged until the vehicle is fully stopped, with the previous system having cancelled at approximately 25km/h. All automatic Triton models built from November 2024 have this new setup as standard.
“As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we constantly take feedback from our dealer partners and customers,” Mitsubishi Motors Australia GM of product strategy Bruce Hampel said.
“Through this, we saw an opportunity to enhance customer choice for the Triton GSR, with a more rugged appearance,” he added.
“The GSR Special Edition combines the GSR’s impressive specification with a distinctively-themed exterior package that further broadens its appeal.”
To achieve this, the new Triton GSR Special Edition showcases a Graphite Grey grille with embossed Mitsubishi lettering for all body colours. A black sports bar is installed in place of the regular GSR’s ‘sailplane’, and the fender flares are removed.
This not only highlights the chosen body colour, but opens the vehicle up for some genuine accessories. The Triton GSR Special Edition otherwise retains the comprehensive standard equipment of the ongoing model. The colour palette also remains the same.
The standard GSR dual cab is priced from $63,840, while the Special Edition can be had $63,140 – both plus on-roads. It’s also backed by the Japanese car maker’s 10/10 Diamond Advantage package.
This comprises a 10-year/200,000-kilometre manufacturer’s warranty, with 10-years capped price servicing. Diamond Advantage also offers up to four years complimentary roadside assist (conditions apply). To find out more, contact your local Mitsubishi dealer.
