Michelin launches safety-focused Primacy 5

Michelin has stepped up its “made to last” tyre range, with the launch of the Primacy 5. Designed for passenger cars and crossovers of all engine types, it’s a significant upgrade over its predecessor.

It boasts a new tread pattern design featuring Michelin Silent Rib Gen-3 technology that helps reduce vibration, giving great noise reduction, for a quiet and comfortable drive, ultimately providing a smooth and relaxed feeling while on the road.

With 24 per cent more mileage compared to other premium brands due to long lasting sculpture for wet, optimized lateral groove edges, and MaxTouch technology that maximises contact with the road.

The combination evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering to deliver longer tread life, without compromising safety — allowing customers to enjoy their adventures over an extended period, while getting the most value out of their tyres.

The Michelin Primacy 5 features version 3.0 of the tyre maker’s functional elastomers, with EverGrip and EverTread technologies that optimise water evacuation, providing excellent wet braking performance.

A high performance tread rubber compound that reduces the tyre’s rolling resistance by 13 per cent to improve energy consumption also provides benefits for electric vehicles. The Michelin Primacy 5 is also more respectful to the environment.

Its rolling resistance is improved by 5 per cent, and its longevity by 18 per cent, which mean that the tyre can be used until the legal tread depth — thus, generating less waste. By design, its environmental footprint is decreased by 6 per cent.

In Australia, it’s available in 30 dimensions, from 16 to 19-inches at Michelin’s authorised tyre dealers across the nation, with an additional 15+ dimensions still to come later in 2025.

All 18-inch and above tyres feature the next-level aesthetic with full-ring velvet sidewalls. For more information, visit www.michelin.com.au
