MG has taken the covers off two new electric vehicles at FullyCharged Sydney, Australia’s largest EV event. The MG4 and ZS EV Long Range made their first public appearances at the weekend.
Both models have been fast tracked to the Australian market due to unprecedented demand, with the ZS EV Long Range set be available for purchase in April, while the MG4 will launch in the second half of the year.
The ZS EV Long Range will be priced at $55,990 plus on-roads and builds on the already popular ZS EV, by utilising a larger 72kw battery pack that provides up to 440km of driving distance.
The MG4 EV hatchback boasts several innovative features, and is the first model to be build on the car maker’s new modular, scalable platform, with a new pure electric architecture that delivers a superior driving experience.
Both new models are equipped with a suite of cutting-edge safety features, advanced battery technology, which can charge up to 80 per cent between 40-63 minutes using a fast charger, and a 7-year warranty.
A sleek and modern design, with a spacious interior and user-friendly infotainment system can also be found in both vehicles.
“Following the success of the ZS EV in September last year, we have listened to our customer’s feedback and have fast tracked the arrival of our new ZS EV Long Range,” MG Motor ANZ CEO Peter Ciao said.
“We felt there was no better stage than FullyCharged Live to offer a glimpse of MG’s future in previewing our first global modular scalable platform in the MG4 and we know you’ll be as excited as we are to see it on Aussie and NZ roads in H2 this year (2023).”
FullyCharged Sydney attracted thousands of EV and automotive enthusiasts, industry experts, and policy makers from around Australia. Exhibitors also included motorcycle brands like Savic and Energica.
