A NEW entry level model has been added to the Mercedes-Benz GLC range, with the introduction of the GLC 200 SUV; powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
The new model, which is priced from $61,990 plus on-roads, pushes out 135kW of power and 300Nm of torque through a 9G-TRONIC nine-speed automatic transmission, and is fitted with full-time rear-wheel-drive and a long list of standard appointments.
This includes Parking Pilot with a 360-degree camera, an EASY PACK tailgate, Audio 20 entertainment system with seven-inch colour display and touchpad control, satellite navigation system, digital radio, and a media interface with smartphone integration.
It also comes with keyless start, electric front seats, black ash wood trim, ARTICO upholstery, LED head-lights, Active Parking Assist, DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode selector, and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Additionally, the GLC 200 is equipped with a suite of Mercedes-Benz safety features including nine airbags, PRE-SAFE accident anticipatory system, Collision Prevention Assist Plus, Attention Assist, and Blind Spot Assist (passive).
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC 200 SUV goes into production in June, with the first vehicles expected to arrive in Australia in September. At the same time, the GLC 220 d SUV and coupé have been deleted from the range.
The complete SUV range now includes the new GLC 200, plus the GLC 250, GLC 250 d, GLC 350 d, GLC 43 and Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S – with prices for the other models ranging from $71,600 to $164,900 (all plus on-roads).
The GLC coupé range includes the Mercedes-Benz GLC 250 Coupé, GLC 350 d, Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupé and the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S Coupé – with prices ranging from $82,300 to $171,900 (again, all prices are plus on-roads).
