Maserati unveils radically unique Project24 track car

Maserati has taken the covers of what it calls Project24, a limited series track-only super sports car designed to raise the brand’s unlimited performance to a new level of adrenaline on the track.

The truly extreme car inherits the specifications of the Maserati MC20, enhancing it with a state-of-the-art V6 Nettuno engine that adds new turbochargers to raise its power to 551kW, supported by innovative suspension, and a carbon-ceramic braking system.

Tyres designed specifically for racing are also included, as well as a number of FIA-approved safety features, including its FT3 120-litre fuel tank, fire extinguisher, and roll cage. It even has a rain light at the rear.

Based on Maserati’s obsession with lightness, the target weight of the Project24 car will be below 1,250 kg. The perfect combination of output and lightness result in an astonishing vehicle with a power-to-weight ratio of approximately 1.69 kg/hp.

Designed by Centro Stile Maserati, the Project24 has a completely new look. This time, Maserati design pushes the boundaries to the limits, free of the constraints usually seen in a class-specific racing car.

The result is something never seen before, combining beauty with genuine sporty capabilities to become an instant classic collector’s item. It will even come with a range of exclusive services.

These include track-specific experiences and state-of-the-art support, exclusively for the owners of this unique vehicle. A range of options will also be available to purchasers, including a second passenger race seat, and rear-view camera display.

Buyers for the Project24, which is as yet unpriced, can also opt-in telemetry recording, in-car camera for video recording, a driving performance optimisation display, and tyre pressure monitoring. Air conditioning and racing ABS and traction control are standard.
