The BMW M anniversary festivities continue with confirmation of the BMW M4 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M, which is headed for Australia in Q4, 2022. The stunning limited run model will be priced at $201,900 plus on-roads.
It’s adorned in Brands Hatch Grey metallic paintwork and paired with 19-inch/20-inch style 826 M light alloy wheels in matte Gold Bronze to add to its sporty character. And if you think you’ve seen those wheels before, you have.
Those eye-catching rims first made their debut on the legendary BMW M5 CS late last year. An M Carbon package is also fitted as standard and includes various CFRP components, such as the diffuser and rear spoiler, which underlines its racing intent.
The icing on the cake for the exterior aesthetic is the replacement of the traditional BMW roundel with 50 years of M emblems on the bonnet, tailgate and wheel centres.
Bespoke ‘Edition 50 Jahre BMW M’ lettering decorates various touchpoints including door sills and the head rests, as well as a high-quality metal plaque situated on the centre console to underscore its exclusivity.
The special anniversary edition is based on the current generation BMW M4 Competition M xDrive, which offers 375kW of power and 650Nm of torque. This allows it to complete the standard sprint from 0-100km/h in an astonishing 3.5 seconds.
In addition to the standard fare bought over from its donor vehicle, the M4 Edition 50 Jahre BMW M adds M compound brakes in red high-gloss, M Carbon bucket seats and exterior pack, and the M driver’s package.
The last of these increases the top speed to 290km/h and gives the owner access to a complimentary BMW M Driving Experience Advance 2 course. Just 25 units have been allocated to Australia which further enhances its collector’s appeal.
