AUDI Australia is expanding the popular Q5 range, with the introduction of the generously equipped 35 TDI variant. Priced at just $68,350 (plus on-roads), it signals a new entry point for the model.
The 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine beneath its bonnet develops 120kW and 370Nm, the latter between a broad range of 1500-3000rpm. Power is channelled to the road via the front wheels, and a seven-speed dual-clutch S-tronic transmission.
Performance is brisk, with 100km/h being despatched in 9.0 seconds, but fuel efficiency is the real highlight. Consuming just 4.8-litres/100km, it sips less diesel than any other SUV on the Australian market.
The large 70-litre fuel tank allows a theoretical range of more than 1400km. Twin-dosing and a 12V mild-hybrid system, including advanced start-stop technology, contributes to the extraordinary fuel efficiency figures too.
The new Q5 35 TDI Limited Edition also offers extraordinary equipment levels as well, and includes the majority of the standard inclusions in its sibling, the 40 TDI quattro. It’s also joined by a TFSI Sport Limited Edition as well.
While some equipment items such as the panoramic sunroof and phone box light are excluded due to current restricted availability, the latter gains the same 20-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels in 10-Y-spoke design that are fitted to the 35 TDI.
Privacy glass and the colour ambient lighting package are also included. As an added bonus, the 21-inch Audi Sport 5-arm polygon design alloy wheels are now optionally available on the Sport Limited Edition models.
Like all new Audi vehicles delivered to Australian customers from January 1 2022, the Q5 models also come with the peace-of-mind of a five-year warranty. Audi also provides a 12-year manufacturer warranty for bodywork against corrosion perforation.
Five-year service plans can be purchased at any time during the first 12 months of ownership of a new Audi vehicle, for a cost of $3,140 for all Q5 models. The new 2022 Audi Q5 35 TDI Limited Edition and Q5 Sport Limited Edition models are available now.
