THE eagerly anticipated Lexus UX urban compact crossover has broken cover, featuring a muscular new look and bold styling, with the reveal coming just days ahead of its world debut at next week’s Geneva Motor Show.
The first proper look at the new UX shows a bold and stylish design that features powerful bodywork, aggressive rear shoulders and muscular wheel arches that contrast with a sleek, compact cabin profile and a high belt line.
Under the skin, an all-new platform gives the UX exceptional body rigidity and a low centre of gravity for the agile handling of a hatchback. Inside, the cabin combines a highly focused driver’s cockpit with a wide and inviting passenger space.
With its brave design and imaginative technology features, the UX will offer strong appeal as a gateway model to the luxury brand in a dynamic and growing part of the market.
The global debut of the production Lexus UX comes 17 months after the luxury brand unveiled a stunning concept for a small premium SUV at the 2016 Paris motor show.
A powerful reinterpretation of the Lexus design signatures, the UX Concept reflected the determination by Lexus for each of its models to have a unique, standalone character with a strong concept behind it.
In Geneva, Lexus will also host the European premiere of the RX “L” 7-seat models, featuring the space and flexibility of three rows of seats accommodating up to seven people.
In addition, the Lexus LF-1 Limitless concept, first revealed at the Detroit motor show in early January, will be making its European debut. The Lexus UX will be officially launched on March 6 at 8pm (AEDT).
