Lexus ES 300h F Sport confirmed for Australia

THE F Sport edition of the Lexus ES 300h luxury mid-sized sedan will arrive in Australian dealerships in October, landing with a host of signature features, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.

The seductively styled and specially tuned F Sport joins the existing Luxury and Sports Luxury grades, and will provide enhanced agility while retaining the ES 300h hallmarks of ride comfort and quietness.

Building on the edgy lines and coupe-like silhouette of the well-received seventh-generation ES range, the F Sport adds a signature mesh grille featuring jet black plating across the sharper bumper profile and rear garnish.

Elegant proportions are augmented by 19-inch F Sport alloy wheels (up from the Luxury’s 17-inch alloy wheels) and F Sport fender badging. Triple-beam LED headlamps with sequential turn indicators and adaptive high beam are also new.

The exceptionally rigid GA-K platform now incorporates F Sport-exclusive adaptive variable suspension (AVS), which will provide more responsive handling across five drive modes; Eco, Normal, Sport S, Sport S+ and Custom.

Inside, a unique F Sport 8.0-inch TFT driver display, contoured and F Sport-embossed front seats, perforated-leather F Sport steering wheel and Lexus-first Hadori aluminium ornamentation create a special, suave ambiance.

Wireless smartphone charging, satellite navigation, voice control, DAB+ digital radio, Lexus Enform and 10-speaker audio will also continue as standard, while a unique choice of F Sport Flare Red and F Sport Black interior trim options will be available.

Both options come with standard black roof-lining and can be matched to 10 exterior colours, including a luminous, F Sport-exclusive Cobalt Mica.

Key equipment across the ES 300h line-up also includes smart key card entry, head-up display, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, a moon roof, automatic dusk-sensing headlamps and automatic rain-sensing wipers.

Front seats feature heating and ventilation, and are 10-way power adjustable, while the Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) includes a pre-collision safety system that detects pedestrians and vehicles, and autonomous emergency braking.

Active cruise control and lane tracing assist are also on board, as are a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert and a panoramic view monitor, electric rear sunshade and driver memory settings.

Every ES 300h utilises the advanced Lexus self-charging hybrid electric system, combining an ultra-efficient 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine working with an electric motor to produce 160kW of power.

Pricing for the updated 2020 Lexus ES 300h Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury will be announced closer to release in October.
