BUILDING on its outstanding success in Australia, LDV has launched a limited edition version of its T60 ute, with the Trailrider offering a host of extra bits, and locally calibrated suspension.
Developed by the Walkinshaw Automotive Group in Melbourne, the suspension calibration has been refined to produce ride and handling that is more in tune with Australian consumer preferences and road conditions.
“With only 650 vehicles being built this is a genuine limited edition,” LDV Automotive Australia general manger Dinesh Chinnappa said.
While the new suspension calibration may not reveal itself until the LDV T60 Trailrider is on the move, it’s the additional equipment that will make it instantly recognisable; including 12-spoke 19-inch black wheels.
The black theme continues with the nudge bar, sports bar and side steps. Adding security, as well as value, is a lockable Mountain Top roller tonneau for the load tray, while a black grille replacing the chrome finish on the standard T60 Luxe.
The Trailrider arrives with unique decals, and is available in dual cab, four-wheel drive as standard, with a choice six speed manual or automatic gearboxes. As with all LDV T60 utes, the Trailrider boasts an impressive array of standard equipment.
Safety features include a 360-degree camera, blind spot warning, six airbags, tyre pressure warning and a host of electronic safety features, while luxury features include a ten-inch touch screen display with smart phone connection via Bluetooth or USB.
There’s also a smart key for key-less entry and starting, along with roof rails, power windows, climate control air conditioning and adaptive headlights. Leather trim is standard on the six way electronically controlled front seats and steering wheel.
Cruise control, automatic wipers, auto dipping rear view mirror and dusk sensing headlights are all standard too, while the door mirrors are heated and fold automatically when the car is locked.
The LDV T60 range is powered by a 2.8-litre 110kW turbo diesel engine, and comes with a rear on-demand differential lock. It has a 3-tonne braked towing capacity and is fitted with a hard wearing tub liner and six tie down points.
It comes with a 5-year/130,000km warranty, and a loan car program and 24/7 roadside assist for the life of the warranty period. The 2019 LDV T60 Trailrider is priced at $38,937 drive away for the manual and $41,042 drive away for the auto.
It hits the market on 20 May and is available in red, white, grey and black.
