Lamborghini unveils 490kW Urus Performante SUV

Lamborghini is about to set a new benchmark in the performance SUV space, with the unveiling of the 2023 Urus Performante, a 490kW V8 weapon that is lighter, more aerodynamic and featuring sportier driving dynamics.

Capable of accelerating to 100km/h in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 306km/h, the new model features specific drive mode calibrations and a new RALLY mode for dirt tracks. It’s a car so good it set a new record on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb road.

“The Urus Performante takes the supreme performance and distinctive looks of Lamborghini’s ground-breaking Super SUV to the next level, retaining its luxurious versatility and delivering the most engaging driving experience,” Lamborghini chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann said.

A pure, sharper, more prominent bonnet and bumper design immediately highlights the Performante’s super sports genetics yet retains the Urus’ innate elegance. There’s plenty of carbon fibre too, including an air outlet in the bonnet, and optional roof.

New black front air-intakes deliver increased engine cooling and maximum expression of the SUV’s super sports heritage. A new air curtain draws airflow over the front wheels, within an aerodynamic design theme that decreases drag.

The newly-designed rear spoiler, increases rear downforce of the Urus Performante by 38 per cent. New steel springs lower the Performante’s chassis by 20mm, with a wheel track that is 16mm broader.

Optional 23 or forged 22-inch lightweight wheels with titanium bolts and specially developed Pirelli tires also feature. A lightweight titanium Akrapovič sports exhaust as standard, offering different resonance depending on the drive mode selected.

The bi-color livery scheme accentuates the dynamism of the Performante model too, with features such as black painted door handles, and the carbon fibre highlights.

Inside, the cockpit features Nero Cosmus black Alcantara as standard with a new hexagonal seat stitching design, the “Performante trim”, and further options including a leather interior.

Dedicated color and trim options include extension of the Performante trim on doors, roof-lining, seat backrest and rear wall, with further Ad Personam customisation including interior matt carbon fibre details, red door handles, and a customized kickplate.

The black Alcantara/leather steering wheel is trimmed in matt black and the aluminium interior trim is anodized black. An optional Dark Package adds matt black treatment can to other interior details.

Locally, the Lamborghini Urus Performante is set to be priced at $465,876 plus on-roads and is expected to arrive later in Q2 of 2023. If you’re keen to own one, and need finance, check out CreditOne.
