KGM has announced the launch of its first fully electric ute. To be known as the Musso EV, it has a range of 420km in two-wheel drive trim, and 380km in its range topping all-wheel drive configuration.
“This is more than just an electric ute – it’s a turning point,” KGM Australia managing director Joseph Lee said. “The Musso EV is purpose-built for lifestyle drivers who want practicality, efficiency and weekend-ready versatility in one package.”
The Musso EV’s exterior reflects KGM’s design philosophy, and combines rugged practicality and the refined styling of an SUV. The front end boasts a sculptured bonnet, and horizontal dot-pattern LED daytime running lights with integrated turn signals.
LED headlights, a three-dimensional black grille and silver skid plate all come together to create its look. Bold wheel arches and door garnishes add to the rugged look. On the AWD offering, the C-pillar features an integrated sail plane and ‘Rhino’ emblem.
A debossed KGM logo features on the tailgate, with LED combination lights, and a defined rear bumper with a skid plate and integrated steps at each corner rounding out the exterior. Inside, the Musso EV features a panoramic dashboard.

Here you’ll find an integrated 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.3-inch centre touchscreen, all powered by KGM’s next-generation Athena 2.0 software. All variants feature adaptive cruise control, self levelling rear suspension and dual-zone climate control.
That’s alongside Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 3D 360-degree camera, leather-look 8-way powered front seats with heating and ventilation (heating for rear outer seats), ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel and a wireless phone charger.
Durable rear tub liner with lighting is included, while the Black Edge offering adds leather and suede seats. Step up to the all-wheel drive and you add suede headrests and door trims, black 17-inch alloys and a dark wood grain dash trim.
Standard safety tech includes autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, front vehicle start alert, high beam assist, safety distance alert, electronic stability control, ABS and brake assist.
You also get multi-collision braking, trailer stability control and front and rear parking sensors. The Musso EV shares its tub dimensions with the standard model, while the electric version is powered by an 80.6kWh LFP blade battery.

The 2WD model features a 152kW front motor delivering 339Nm of torque, while the AWD variant adds a 152kW/339Nm rear motor and boosts the combined system output to 266kW and 630Nm.
Regenerative braking is adjustable across three levels via steering wheel-mounted paddles, while the intelligent system automatically adapts to road gradients and surrounding traffic, maximising energy recovery.
With 300kW DC fast charging, the battery can recharge from 20 to 80 per cent in approximately 31 minutes. Customisable charging targets add further flexibility, and built-in vehicle-to-load enables external power supply for camping gear and tools.
Pricing starts at $60,000 for the Musso EV, with the Black Edge at $62,000 and the AWD at $64,000 – all drive away. It’s backed by a 7-year unlimited kilometre warranty (with 10-years for the battery).
Vehicles will be available at selected KGM dealerships this month, with the new model going on sale 1 December 2025.
