JEEP Australia has commence local 80th anniversary celebrations, announcing the release of just 130 Wrangler Unlimited Willys. The special edition features a host of exclusive elements and is inspired by the original 1948 Willys Overland CJ-3A.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys dons a sporty, blacked-out front grille and 17-inch five-spoke gloss black aluminium wheels. The hood boasts a military-styled stencil exclusive to Willys.
The rear swing gate displays a 4×4 decal inspired by Jeep’s 80-year heritage of legendary off-road capability. Inside the cabin, a modern silver-platinum instrument mid-panel features, along with practical all-weather slush mats.
Similar to the original Willys Overland CJ-3A, which featured numerous upgrades compared to its CJ-2A predecessor, this limited edition offering gains an upgraded Dana M220 rear axle, which can also be found on the extreme Rubicon model.
Combined with an anti-spin rear differential, the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Willys provides off-roaders with enhanced off-road capability in slippery, low-traction situations. It’s powered by Jeep’s Night Eagle 3.6-litre power plant.
It will be available in four exclusive colours, including Bright White, Sting Grey, Sarge Green and Black. It can be ordered now, but will not arrive in dealerships until April 2021. It’s priced from $61,941 (plus on-roads).
