Jeep updates 2024 Gladiator with tech, safety and fresh look

Revealed in the United States, Jeep has taken the covers off its 2024 Gladiator, the most capable and refined version to date. It features a new seven-slot grille, the option of powered seats, more airbags and new model variants.

Two new choices expand the range in the US (there’s no confirmation whether they’ll come to Australia), including the Mojave X and Rubicon X. Both feature an integrated off-road camera, steel bumpers and Nappa leather-trimmed 12-way power-adjustable front seats.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available across the range, thanks to the the introduction of a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen infotainment system. It will support dual phone Bluetooth connection and Alexa home to car functionality.

A windshield-integrated trail-ready stealth antenna and seven new wheel designs also feature. The Gladiator delivers open-air freedom too, with its folding windshield, three roof choices and three door choices, including half doors and removable doors.

It maintains its 3.5 tonne braked towing capacity. The big Jeep will continue to use the car maker’s 212kW 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine, with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the option of an 8-speed auto.

Safety has been improved too with first and second-row side-curtain airbags. Standard forward collision warning and advanced cruise control with stop functionality is available across the range, as is stability control and electronic roll mitigation.

The two new range topping models feature blind spot monitoring and rear cross path detection. Local specifications, an arrival date, and pricing are yet to be announced. Further details will be revealed closer to its Australian launch.
