Jaguar reveals pricing and specs for new look XE and F-PACE SVR

NOT only has Jaguar lifted the lid on pricing and specs on the 2020 Jaguar XE range, but we now know just how much the newly arrived 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR is going to cost us as well.

The new Jaguar XE launches with two models in its line up, following a rationalisation of offerings, with both variants featuring a 221kW Ingenium petrol engine, in sport R-Dynamic guise.

The new look saloon will deliver an enhanced exterior design, with a more assertive appearance thanks to new front and rear bumpers, and all-LED headlights and taillights.

Inside, Jaguar’s new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system and 12.3-inch interactive driver display will be featured, along with smart settings technology to provide an artificial intelligence, designed to learn the preferences of individual drivers.

Under the hood, the new power plant offers acceleration from 0-100km/h in 5.9 seconds, while the new lightweight aluminium body makes for more agile handling. Double wishbone front and integral link rear suspension complete the package.

Available in SE or HSE specification, the entry level option includes 18-inch alloy wheels, electric leather seats, front and rear parking aid, rear camera, lane keep assist, DAB+ digital radio, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The R-Dynamic HSE models adds 19-inch alloy wheels, Touch Pro Duo, blind spot assist, adaptive cruise control, high speed emergency braking, 18-way front seats with driver’s memory, an electrically adjustable steering column, and a Meridian sound system.

Both variants are driven through an 8-speed automatic transmission, with the 2020 Jaguar XE R-Dynamic SE priced at $65,670 plus on-roads, while the HSE offering is priced at $71,940 plus on-roads.

In the case of the 2019 F-PACE SVR, buyers will find a package jam packed with performance bits and loaded with features. Powered by a heart pounding supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine, the SVR is capable of 0/100km/h in just 4.3 seconds.

That energetic run to the recognised benchmark is thanks to the 404kW and 680Nm power plant that tops out at 283km/h. To keep it under control, there’s a full aerodynamic package as well.

It features unique front and rear bumpers, lower body sides and a rear flip spoiler to enhance cooling. This will in turn, also reduce lift and drag and aid high speed stability.

The chassis has had a tune up as well, with upgraded dampers, with front and rear spring rates increased by 30 and 10 per cent respectively. Coupled with lightweight 21 and optional 22-inch forged wheels, the 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR offers exceptional handling.

But that’s not all, there’s also a rear electronic active differential for optimised traction and dynamics, upgraded brakes featuring two piece discs, and bespoke calibrations for the quick-shift transmission.

Electric power assisted steering, adaptive dynamics, torque vectoring, dynamic stability control and a class leading all wheel drive system finish off the long list of enhancements, that also includes a new variable valve active exhaust.

A luxurious interior features slimline sports seats throughout, with signature lozenge quilting and embossed SVR logos. A new sports shift selector replaces the standard rotary selector and is coupled with a new SVR steering wheel with aluminium paddle shifters.

The 2019 Jaguar F-PACE SVR is priced from $140,020 plus on-roads. Both XE and F-PACE SVR feature options packs, which can be added to your vehicle for an additional cost.
