Jaecoo will strengthen its local line-up with the introduction of the J8 SUV, with pricing set to start from $49,990 drive away. The luxury offering features a bold front-end design, LED headlights and daytime running lights, and rides on 20-inch alloy wheels.
With Jaecoo lettering across the rear light bar, the J8 will be offered in four exterior colours, including Arctic White, Carbon Black, Ocean Blue, and Iridium Silver. Step inside, and you’re greeted with dual 12.3-inch LCD displays and a 14-speaker surround sound system.
Synthetic leather seats provide a plush ride, with heating and ventilation available for both front and rear rows. Native GPS navigation and wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are all standard.
The front-wheel drive Track opens the range and also features a surround view camera, massaging front seats, a powered tailgate and second row air-conditioning controls. Stepping up to the all-wheel drive Ridge adds an array of extras.
Priced at $54,990 drive away, it scores Snow, Mud, Sand and Off Road driving modes, continuous damping control, an automatic parking function, second row heating and ventilation for the seats, ambient lighting and an in-built fragrance system.
Regardless of the variant, under the bonnet, the J8 boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 183kW of power and 385Nm of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fuel economy sits at 8.3-litres/100km for the 2WD and 8.6-litres/100km for the AWD. Safety tech includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure prevention and emergency lane keeping.
Tyre pressure monitoring completes the package. The J8, like its J7 sibling, is backed by an 8-year unlimited kilometre warranty and 12 months complimentary roadside assistance (which can be extended to 7-years when you service with an authorised Jaecoo dealer).
The 2025 Jaecoo J8 will go on-sale in June.
